Map of Ireland

Áras Mhuire is located in the outskirts of Listowel on the main road (R553) leading to Ballybunion. It is a member of the Town and Country Homes Association and has Quality Approved status. The house, set in a large mature garden, has been recommended by the Irish Independent.

The focal point of Listowel is the square which has had a radical facelift for the better in recent times. The planting of trees and the provision of flower baskets have enhanced its beauty and greatly added to its charm. Modern works of sculpture, denoting the origins of the town and marking the literary achievements of its people, have been commissioned, designed and erected in different parts of the square. During re-construction work, an old well was discovered near St. John's and, after a brief baptism, was christened Writers' Well.

Golf Courses
There are numerous golf courses in Co. Kerry from Ballybunion in the North of the county to Waterville in the south. In recent years courses have sprung up like mushrooms to cater for the increasing number of people now playing the game. The old links course at Ballybunion is regarded by many of the experts as one of the finest in the world.

Red arrowShawnee in Kansas, USA.
Red arrowPanissieres in France.
Strong cultural links have now been established with all three towns. Numerous exchanges have already taken place, particularly with Panissieres, a town which in the past had a monorail similar to that which ran between Listowel and Ballybunion.
